How the challenge is run
- Same starting point. Each portfolio began with $100,000 in virtual cash — stkmrkt, ChatGPT, Groq and Gemini on June 15, 2026, and Grok on June 24, 2026.
- Same prompt. At each review, every model receives the same portfolio-analyst prompt template, filled in with its own current holdings and cash, and replies with a structured allocation plan: what to buy, sell or hold and how much.
- Where the answers come from. ChatGPT, Gemini and Grok answer through their standard public chat apps; Groq answers through its API. stkmrkt's plan comes from its own research pipeline, which adds live market data (top movers, the earnings calendar and analyst ratings) that general-purpose models don't see.
- Trades are executed, not imagined. Each plan is applied as paper trades at live market prices, so every portfolio lives with its own fills — no edits after the fact.
- Scoring. Total return is cash plus current holdings at live prices, compared with the $100,000 starting balance. A snapshot is recorded each trading day to build the performance history chart above.
Reviews are run roughly every trading day. Results are simulated, use virtual money, and aren't a recommendation to buy or sell any security.
